FAQ

Who uses a personal trainer?

The role of the personal trainer is changing. It used to be that celebrities and wealthy individuals were the only people that used personal trainers. The stereotype of a personal trainer used to be that of a big body builder. Today the personal trainer is a highly skilled professional that has been educated and certified to work with various types of clients. Children as young as 7 years old, 80 year old men and women, obese adults, athletes, cancer recovery patients, and adults with diseases all benefit from working with personal trainers. Clients are using personal trainers for: fat loss, weight gain, flexibility, improve posture, alleviate stress, Increase energy, rehab an injury, improve quickness, general health benefits, etc.

What does your initial session consist of?

The initial session gives your personal trainer the opportunity to discuss with you (in person or over the telephone, whichever is most convenient for you) and get to know you and your goals. It also gives us the chance to explain how we work and what we can offer. The next step is to schedule your initial workout, a one hour, no-obligation session. During this session, we perform an initial physical assessment, measure your body fat percentage, take circumference measurements and administer a full workout to give you the opportunity to see if you like the way we train.

What kind of results should I expect working with a personal trainer?

It really depends on how much effort you put into your training program. In 6 weeks, clients usually lose between 8 and 15 pounds of body fat (that isn't scale weight, just the bad weight you want to get rid of). It is important to remember that you may only be in the gym with your trainer 1-3 hours per week, so what will make you or break you is what you choose to do when you're NOT with your trainer (and it is the trainer's responsibility to provide you with that information). Of course, the closer you follow the lifestyle developed for you by your trainer, the better results you will have.

How will my trainer know what program is right for me?

Prior to getting started, our personal trainers will meet with you for a free consultation. During this time, our personal trainers will ask you questions about your fitness goals, past history with exercise, etc, to get an idea of what type of program is right for you.  All of our personal training programs are specifically tailored to meet each client's specific goals.

Who should I talk to about which program would be best for me?

What exactly does a Personal Trainer do?

At Gym360, our personal trainers are highly skilled and certified, and have many roles when working with clients. Your personal trainer will serve as a coach, teacher and motivator. It is the personal trainer's job to assess your current physical and mental state, establish very specific goals, design an individualized program, and do what ever it takes to keep you on track towards getting results.

What about nutrition?

Exercise is extremely important in achieving your fitness goals, however, proper nutrition cannot be ignored. Our personal trainers are very knowledgeable in regards to nutrition, and will definitely help to advise. However, it will be best to consult a licensed dietitian who can prescribe u a diet plan.

How are you different from a trainer at a chain gym?

First and foremost, we are a private gym that is privately owned - huge crowds are not a part of Gym360. We have no alliances to huge corporate gyms, and we work for our clients only. Unfortunately, many corporate trainers are paid bonuses and are under a lot of pressure to sell clients supplements and other things they may not need. Their job is to keep you coming in, whether you're making progress or not, and their workout routines are designed for the masses. We design each program and nutritional regimen from scratch, based on the individual's needs and current fitness level.

Once I begin working with a personal trainer, what will happen during the sessions?

During your free consultation with one of our personal trainers, we will ask you some questions about your specific goals and conditions.

During the consultation, which lasts approximately 1 hour, your personal trainer will gather as much information on your medical and exercise history as possible in order to create the best program for you. Next your trainer will establish realistic goals and discuss the strategies that will be used to accomplish them. Body fat testing, body girth measurements, flexibility, cardio, and strength testing may all be done during the consultation process.

The next session focuses on nutrition. We believe that the nutritional component is responsible for up to 70% of the programs results. This is why we spend up to one hour educating and transitioning the client into an individualized nutritional program. The program’s success is based on the philosophy that each person has to have realistic goals, become educated, and gradually change eating habits. We will go grocery shopping with you, e-mail you daily, and make phone calls to keep you on track with your program. By the end of the nutritional consultation, you will know exactly what is required of you in order to achieve the goals that you have established.

The next time you meet with your trainer, you will start weight resistance and cardiovascular training. Your trainer will demonstrate proper form and technique and explain to you the fundamentals behind the specific training that you are focusing on. Although high intensity training is the ultimate goal, you can expect to take it easy for the first couple of sessions to allow your body to adjust to the new style of training.

Your personal trainer will teach you about cardiovascular training. Depending on your program, your trainer will set you up on cardio goals for each week. There will be a complete cardiovascular schedule for each week of the program. You will learn about high and low intensity cardio and how these styles of training fit into your specific program.

How much will it cost me?
